Despite their winning streak, the Senators are last in the League on the power play at 15.2 percent. But the Leafs are by far the worst on the penalty kill at 70.4 percent.Ottawa took a hit on the blue line when rookie Erik Karlsson left Thursday’s win over the Canucks with a shoulder injury. … Toronto learned this week that defenseman Mike Komisarek will need season-ending shoulder surgery, and forward Mikhail Grabovski won’t be back until after the Olympic break due to a broken wrist.
Spezza has a goal in each of the last eight games he’s played in, including six straight after returning from knee surgery. He has 9 goals in his last eight games. … Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who’s likely to start in goal for the Leafs, is coming off a 3-0 win over New Jersey in his Toronto debut on Tuesday.
