The Flyers are now 5-4 in playoff elimination games decided in overtime the last previous triumph coming in Game 7 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals when Joffrey Lupul’s goal beat the Capitals in Washington.Boston’s Milan Lucic has been playing inspired hockey of late for the Bruins. He has a five-game points streak, notching 2 goals and 6 points over that span.
So the Flyers stave off elimination in Game 4. Can they repeat that performance in Games 5, 6 and 7? Well, in order to do so, they’ll have to win two playoff games in Boston. For the Flyers, Jeff Carter (right foot), Ian Laperriere (brain contusion) and goalies Michael Leighton (high ankle sprain) and Ray Emery (bone graft surgery) are out.
