Its the fourth and final meeting between the two teams, but the first since Boston’s 2-1 overtime victory on Jan. 1 in the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park. The Flyers won the first two meetings, 4-3 in a shootout at home on Oct. 22 and 3-1 at Boston on Dec. 14 the first really good game the team played under new coach Peter Laviolette.
The Flyers and Bruins, the sixth- and eighth-place teams in the Eastern Conference, are trending in opposite directions and it’s the home team, the Flyers, that’s trending upward.
